Pick a unit, enter how many you want, then select Generate text. Paragraphs, sentences, words and list items are produced exactly as counted; characters are cut to the exact length you ask for. Choose HTML to wrap paragraphs in <p> tags, or list items in a <ul>.
The seed, and why it is here
Every other generator reshuffles its words on each click, so a layout screenshot or a visual test can never be reproduced. Enter any seed — a word, a ticket number — and the same seed with the same settings always returns the same text. Leave it empty if you want fresh text each time.
What lorem ipsum is
Lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin used as placeholder text so that a reader judges a layout rather than the words. It comes from a passage of Cicero’s De finibus bonorum et malorum, written in 45 BC, which was reshuffled into filler text and spread by Letraset transfer sheets in the 1960s and by desktop publishing software afterwards. It is deliberately meaningless; tell a client the text is placeholder before they read it as copy.
Is the text sent anywhere?
No. The generator runs in this page, and nothing you set or generate leaves your browser.
